Ming Chuan University Department of Product Design Wins 3rd Place Gold Award at 2025 Global Brand Planning Competition 🏆✨

The Department of Product Design at Ming Chuan University participated in the 2025 Global Brand Planning Competition, organized by the Taiwan Society for Marketing Science, competing against 331 teams from 50 universities and over 1,200 students and faculty across Taiwan. After a rigorous three-month selection process, the top 48 teams advanced to the Taiwan finals held on December 19, where the student team guided by Professor Kao Kai-Ning stood out, winning the Gold Award, 3rd place.

The team, named “Good Drive”, consisted of third-year students Chen Xin-Yi, Huang Zi-Ting, Lin Zhi-Yu, and Mo Xin-Feng, and focused on the challenge from a chain pharmacy: “Integrated Health Marketing Strategy for Middle-aged and Older Adults.” They proposed a forward-thinking marketing solution targeting women aged 40 and above, using health needs as the entry point. Through innovative marketing strategies, the team encouraged proactive health management while strengthening trust and loyalty to the pharmacy brand.

The proposal also outlined a plan to integrate health checkups and service providers, expanding the scope of pharmacy services and positioning the brand as a “local health care platform.” The project demonstrated strong market insight and integrated thinking, earning unanimous praise from the judges.

The 2025 Global Brand Planning Competition aims to cultivate well-rounded marketing strategists by combining theory with practice. Teams act as brand consultants, analyzing a designated brand’s current status, researching its business model, and developing a marketing plan to enhance the brand’s image. Through this campus competition, students gain early exposure to real-world industry challenges and an opportunity to exercise their creative and strategic thinking.
