About Centre
In response to the aging society, the School of Design has taken into account the Ministry of Science and Technology's interdisciplinary research priorities and the National Development Council's concepts for national development strategies. It has identified "Well-being Design" as the core direction and goal for future research, aiming to make it a distinctive feature of the School's research focus. Therefore, the establishment of the "Well-being Design Research Center" will further integrate the research capabilities of the faculty and industry-academia resources, highlighting the unique research characteristics of the department.
The research scope of the "Well-being Design Research Center" includes "Well-being Design Theory," "Innovative Design Practices," and "Design Information and Technology Integration," among other specialties. The establishment of this center effectively integrates the department's research resources and accumulates research experience and results in the field of well-being design. This will facilitate the pursuit of various research projects and ensure the optimal utilization of research resources, enhancing the advancement of well-being design science.
By leveraging the research experience and reputation built through the "Well-being Design Research Center," the School of Design can significantly improve its standing within the domestic design academic community.
The purpose of establishing the "Well-being Design Research Center" (hereafter referred to as the Research Center) is to consolidate faculty research strengths and resources, foster collaboration to maximize overall impact, promote well-being design research and industry-academia development, and embody the educational philosophy of "knowledge commercialization and industrial knowledge integration." This initiative will further establish the department's distinctive characteristics, aiming to achieve sustainable development in design industry and research.
