To enhance Taiwanese students\u2019 practical innovation and material application skills, reduce the gap between academic learning and industry practice, and strengthen hands-on teaching and industry connections, Corning Taiwan held the \u201c2025 Corning Innovators \u2013 Innovation & Application Competition\u201d<\/strong>. The finals and awards ceremony took place on November 28<\/strong> at Taipei Cultural and Creative Park, 6F<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

The Ming Chuan University Department of Product Design<\/strong> student team \u201cLet Me Corning\u201d<\/strong> stood out among over 400 participating teams and was awarded the Excellence Prize<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

This year\u2019s competition was themed \u201cInnovative Vision, Touching the Future\u201d<\/strong> and focused on display glass<\/strong> as the creative material, aiming to explore its application potential to create smarter, more convenient, and immersive life experiences while considering market feasibility and industrial value.<\/p>\r\n

Guided by Professor Kai-Ning Kao<\/strong> from the Ming Chuan University Department of Product Design, the team \u201cLet Me Corning\u201d<\/strong>, composed of third-year students Che-Hung Liao, Rui-Chi Shen, and Wei-Le Ho<\/strong>, created MirrorZone<\/em><\/strong>\u2014a smart door that combines technology with emotional design. Beyond serving as a home entrance, it is envisioned as a \u201ccanvas of emotions\u201d<\/strong> for the family.<\/p>\r\n

The design features a customizable transparent screen<\/strong> that can connect to Google Photos to display cherished memories, show family messages and daily notes, or provide real-time weather and calendar reminders, transforming the door into a medium for communication and connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Additionally, its single-sided glass design<\/strong> allows clear visibility of outdoor activities from inside while providing unparalleled \u201cvisual security\u201d<\/strong>, protecting household privacy from prying eyes and delivering a safer, more intuitive smart home experience. When children leave the house, the screen serves as a loving reminder; when you are home alone, it acts as a reassuring guardian.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n
